Wellness is one of the pillars on which Cancer Support Community’s comprehensive survivorship program is built. Research shows that cancer patients who engage in mind/body programs experience improved outcomes when compared with patients who did not. Our programs are aimed at improving mind/body wellness and reducing stress. Additionally, these approaches have been shown to improve quality of life during cancer. All class instructors are certified or trained professionals.

Nutrition for Wellness

This program focuses on foods that provide good nutrition with easy effort! Led by local chefs, these classes include a live cooking demonstration, where you will learn the nutritional value of the foods and follow along as a delicious dish is prepared. Recipes cards are shared with the class for each delicious entrée!

Reiki is a non-invasive, light-touch practice that originated in Japan in 1922. The recipient lies on a massage table fully clothed, while the practitioner gently places her hand on the head, torso, back, and sometimes feet to guide most people to deep relaxation. Many people experience warmth or light sensation in areas where the practitioner’s hands are placed. Reiki has a meditative quality, sometimes even being described as meditation delivered through the hands.

Gentle Stretch Yoga

Yoga is a mind and body practice that involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well-being. Yoga has shown to increase flexibility and strength while reducing stress. All fitness levels welcome!

Walking Club

Join us for some light movement and time outdoors. Each week, we will walk for roughly an hour at a local park. No distance minimum or maximum, just working at our pace. Water and snacks will be provided. Participants will be notified 30 minutes prior to group in the event of cancellation due to inclement weather.

SAVOR Nutrition

We’ve partnered with SAVOR Health®! Introducing Ina®, The Intelligent Nutrition Assistant. Relaxation & Visualization

Using well researched techniques, learn to relax your body and mind while increasing awareness and recognizing and developing your own visual images. Relaxation & Visualization has been shown to boost your immune system.
